Remington tss

Remington has a 12 ga 1.75 oz tss #9 load. Has anyone patterned these yet?

I shot them out of my wife’s SBE2, with a Primos Jellyhead .655 and the factory full. They did alright at 30 yds, but fell apart at 40 yds.

1.75 oz tss falling apart at 40 is pretty pathetic! Thought I saw a video on youtube they didn't look impressive either.

How do you mess up a tss load that bad? Maybe they filed bankruptcy for a reason.

I only tried them through a couple chokes, they might shoot better out of other chokes, but I won’t be trying them again. I went with Apex this year, and will be reloading 12, 20, and 410 tss for next season.

Wrong choke for tss

Should be no tighter than a 660 typically

I know a guy that shoots the jelly head, not the TSS version and gets incredible patterns with Apex 9s. Maybe that one is a .660 like my old original JH. which is also a fantastic choke.

Mine is an older Jellyhead and shot really well with the Apex 3” 2.5 ounce #9. Recoil was terrible, but the pattern was pretty good at 40 yds. Long story, but I didn’t have a ton of time to play with different loads this year, I got lucky with the Apex load being the second load I tried. I’ll be handloading tss from now on.
