How do yall get yours to not cut out when forcing a good bit of air through? I can put more air through the hoot n stick than I can the houndstooth knock off, but it will still cut out on me if I try to get loud

I can cup my left hand more loosely and get some more volume but then I don't get the "deep" owl sound

I ain’t no where as good as anyone else. Hence I’m sharing James’s instagram hooter video. I don’t think you have to be super loud

I have the original Harrison Hooter. It’s the best I’ve ever ran. I may try his new one out

I have the original, his new style torpedo and the Phelps owl he builds for them. All 3 are sweet. That Torpedo tho is top notch

When I was with Hooks and James was with hooks that was the only complaint with the stick was I want it to be louder but it won't take more air... Truth be the lower tone although it doesn't sound loud it does carry...

James with the above video owl hooter took care of the one issue and it is adjustable... Not by moving the reed but twisting the end allowing more air out more and more volume..

I need to get a Phelps although I've never been in happy with the Hooks...

Before I was with hooks I actually purchased the very first and I don't mean design, the very first hoot n stick Scott ever shipped...It was the old caramel swirl color... Wish I still had it... For nostalgia

That is good info all, I appreciate it. Maybe I am being unrealistic with the volume I want. I can make it sound great, but its about half as loud as I would like. I can hoot without a call twice as loud, but not quite as realistic

The acrylic calls will handle a bit more air and certainly the new adjustable. I am a goose and duck caller so I tend to over power the hooter as well. The old plastic Palmer's was a good fit for me but I lost it.

I have an original of James, just takes me a little time to back off the air and I can make it sound pretty good.

His new screamer call is awesome too.
