Doubled up on fall gobblers

Post by Riverrat »

My son and I doubled this morning on some fall gobblers. The birds have been roosting and working this ridge all week according to my buddy that has been deer hunting, he told me he wasn’t hunting Sunday morning to ease in there and set up on them. They stayed on roost for at least 45 minutes after sun up maybe longer. We heard them fly down so I waited a couple of minutes and made 3 gobbler yelps. Patiently waiting I eventually heard some clucking and my heart started pounding like I was listening to gobbling in the spring because of the sounds that fall gobblers make and then they popped up in the logging road. End of story.

Yes Sir, nicely done

There have been fall days that I've heard more gobbling in one day than you hear all week in some of these silent spring seasons
