Yard Work Started before the Rains Come – 03/05/2022

Post by HunterGKS »

It’s a pretty nice day with a temp of 59 at noon, a slight breeze, & a sunny clear sky. I decided to start the yard
work at noon & just pick up the small stuff as I thought the yard might still be too wet for the trailer. As it turns
out, I was able to use the trailer without too much problem.

My plan was to start in the backyard, load the limbs onto the trailer & haul them to the pile, & cut them up so I
could throw them on top of the pile. A lot of the limbs were just too big t handle easily so I cut them up before
loading. I filled up the trailer & decided I needed to give these tired, old bones a break at 14:00.

I got back out at 14:40 , unloaded the trailer & started cleaning up the front side yard. I got it all cleaned up &
went back to the backyard & finished cleaning it up. There were a lot of large pieces from tree that fell last year
that I wanted to move but they were frozen solid to the ground & will have to wait. I got the trailer unloaded &
decided enough was more than enough at 15:45.

I did get the snow-blower, mower, & 4-wheeler moved around so I’d be ready for lawn mowing & turkey season.
I’m done for the day & the muscles are already starting to cry: “UNCLE!!!”

Thx but I am paying the price. I hurt in places I didn't even know I had.

I need to learn how to slow down but that's easier said than done.

I thought I would really be stove up today but, other than a little muscle soreness & lower back pain,
I feel pretty good. Maybe those twice a week workouts are paying off.

68 right now in Crawford. The yard wasn't too bad yesterday but is real squishy now & the fields look pretty muddy. Glad I got the yard work done yesterday.

We are in the killbuck marsh area so mud is a given. I would not expect that to be the norm for most, but this should help us dry out. We still have standing water but it's going down. Wind is helping

I ran a chainsaw and a pole saw for a couple of hours on Wednesday. I felt it the next day for sure! Good start George.

I work out twice a week but I guess I don't hit the muscles that were yelling the other day. I am glad I got it done when
I did as we got a 1/10" of rain Sat night which made the yard a little more squishy & 8/10" last night. I walked across
the yard a little bit ago & left a trail of muddy footsteps. Hard to tell when it will be dry enough to roll.
