Who all is traveling 2022???

Post by Hoobilly »

How many of you will be trying to hunt multiple states this coming turkey season??? I’m not chasing 49, but that would be a lot of fun. Certain states I don’t have interest in but there are a couple that I’ve wanted to hunt for many years. Lord willing ,Texas will be one that I hunt this spring.

Been traveling around for years…not trying for 49 either but hitting new convenient states again this year…Added two new states last year.

I like hunting new dirt!

Applying for 2 new states this year.

Hunting new states will test your mettle. I really enjoy traveling and meeting members from here and the defunct NWTF forum

I'm hoping to do at least one. Best guess is no state will pull the ban the non-res deal this spring because of covid. Still amazed at some that did last season.

Only drive I have, is to the U.P. in Michigan, to a farm at Garden and hunt at an ole' Tuscola farmer buddy place.
Then back to the Gratiot area and surrounding counties, helping out friends, of maybe still filling my tag yet

Dang covid situation with flying to my hunts to Mexico and Texas, may or may not happen as planned.
I drove to Texas once and brought back my mounter Rio and vowed I'd never drive it again!!

I don't plan to hunt any other states. I will be flying to IL in May for my nephew's wedding, after IL ends and before MT finishes. That's definitely not the ideal time for me. If I was driving, I'd stop in KS, NE, or SD but I'm okay if I never drive it again.

If anyone has MT on their radar, MT FWP is proposing moving the start date out 5 days to 4/15 and extending to the end of May. This will be a net increase in the number of days in the season. I hope it gets approved.

I will cover MT from one end to the other so look me up if you come this way.

Brice,
Not aware that you have to be "jabbed or fully jabbed", but I'll bet that will be the next requirement for U.S., state to state travel, or/and pre covid test's, as Alaska has, for travel.

I try and set an example and not be one ;)

Starting out in Big Cypress in Florida with all my Pinhoti bros. Hopefully I can draw the new Mississippi non-resident public lands permit, if so, I'll be there next. Then I'll be taking my boat to hunt the lakes in TN with my idols. At the first of May, figure I'll hitch a ride to the THP meet-up in Montana. May make a pit stop in Chadron, Nebraska to meet up with other forum members. Finally I'll finish up in the northeast like everyone else.
