Stevens 301-Indian Creek .385- patterns

Post by Riverrat »

I've shot 3 different makes of TSS and Indian Creek .385 at 40 yards. The barrel has been perfectly clean between each shot. Consistently has 2 to 3-2" holes in the pattern. Do you guys that shoot these 410's see this a lot or is the constriction on the tube to tight? Maybe try a 390 constriction?

Mine with the IC 390 and 383 Strokers. Just bore snaked between shots.

Like Guesswho’s said and boresnake between shots

I also polish and shoot with a mirror shine to see how that does also. Just to see what the gun likes best.

Also..
410’s seem to like certain loads with a certain choke. Each load will like a different exit diameter
Don't start none, won't be none!

I've cleaned to a mirror finish between each shot with a bore snake, brush and then swabbed. The barrel has a mirror finish from factory. Do you think there's any benefit polishing with a barrel hone?
