Hey guys!!!
Chatterbox here!
Actually, my name is Mike Clark, and I hail from central NH. I haven't had the best luck the past few seasons, but I will give it 100%, and hopefully give one a dirt nap this spring!

I'm Jay and I don't shoot a whole bunch of birds, but the last 3 years averaged over 70 on score, so hopefully I can keep that going.

Re: Hey guys!!!
Sounds good to me. I figure, if we can keep a 65+ average, we will be in the money.
My two biggest from last year was a 71 and 67.
Bout the only 70+ birds we ever get down here are double beards or super long spurs.
Not many 25 lb+ birds, mostly weigh around 17 to 20 lb.
We will be fine, just stay safe and enjoy your hunting.

I've got my kill zones in Kansas, but still haven't locked anything up in my home state that I'm comfortable with. Really ticks me off I can't maintain good land to hunt here. One small piece of Private that's hit and miss, and some pounded Public. However, working on some private now that I've got a tentative yes on.

Jay, there is a ton of ground down south. The people are super nice. Oops, I mean nobody lets you hunt down there. Don't waste your time. Don't want you moving in on my territory.

I've hunted down there in the past, but just don't have the connections I use to. The piece I'm working on is South, so hopefully that pays off.doublegobble wrote:Jay, there is a ton of ground down south. The people are super nice. Oops, I mean nobody lets you hunt down there. Re: Hey guys!!!
Jim, when does your season start in NM??
I know PA. and NH has a fairly late season compared to me down in TN.
Anybody come up with a name yet??
I was thinking...( The 2013 Champs ), but don't think the other teams would care for that,...lol

Hey guys!!!
You should probably consider 1st or 2nd runner up if you have a great year!
Re: Hey guys!!!
I might fit in a 5 day Texas Rio hunt, which is the possibility of 4 more tags. Working on details right now to see if it computes.Jaybird wrote:I've got my kill zones in Kansas, but still haven't locked anything up in my home state that I'm comfortable with. Re: Hey guys!!!
If you carry all the lead you been stuffin down your previous birds the airline will charge you extra.

As it sits right now, wife and myself are taking the vehicle. Dang plain fare is a bit high. I do hate wasting 4 day driving time though.Johndoe wrote:If you carry all the lead you been stuffin down your previous birds the airline will charge you extra.

Our NM season runs from April 15th to May 10th every year. How about you,...and the rest of the team?
My first hunt this year is at the start of April in Texas and then Oklahoma for Rios.
The problem with all of my hunts this year is that the birds do not score well in the NWTF system. I should manage to get several gobblers (famous last words...) but they probably won't score high enough to help the team out much. You other guys will have to pick up the slack for me!

Re: Hey guys!!!
Well fellows, it looks like I'm up first.
Have not been out listening yet, been too dang cold and stormy.
Got less than a month to go, but may slip down to AL in a few weeks.
Maybe I can get lucky and smack a double beard. AL is well known for thier multiples.
I'll be out looking and listening in about a week.

Re: Hey guys!!!
well fellas, thought we were on the board. i punched an arrow through the shoulders of about a 65 incher, but somehow missed any vitals.... dammit. even after he jumped and ran a few yards, i could see where the feathers were messed up on both sides of him, hmmmm.
weird... kept waiting for him to fall over dead, but he just walked away, out of sight with all the rest of them.

Re: Hey guys!!!
Checked into a nice cabin in Southern, Iowa, and my wife and myself had a real good time. We scouted Turkeys for a couple of days, and found 2 spots we really liked. Both spots are excellent, and will start with the one with the easiest walk. We found 3-4 other spots which were good, but the two spots were head and shoulders better than the other ones. The place we are setting up at 1st had more Turkey tracks in the mud, than I've seen anywhere else, ever. Looked like a Turkey Hiway.
