Hearing enhancements

Post by wingbonehntr »

Hey guys, I’m looking to purchase some hearing devices, mainly for hunting. I am 44 and have a good bit of hearing loss. I don’t find that I miss a whole lot of words in general conversation, but my buddies sure do hear those birds far off that I can’t. I know some of y’all use different ones and hope to get some input to help me in my purchasing. Thanks

Walkers game ears. get them for both ears. do not use the muffs.

when you use them in both ears it is like surround sound stereo

have used them for close to 12 years. I have hearing loss from operating heavy equipment. high rpm baling rig running a crane. couple that with shooting and I am in the same boat. Cant hear far off gobblers

I use these listening for birds at fly up and sunrise.

Bluetooth capable, so you can take a cell phone call with them too. Nice at the range when I can hear others yet mute the gun blasts.

I purchased the Walker's Xcel digital Shooting Muffs this fall before deer season. Have 4 Omni directional microphones, several frequency modes. Lost a lot of hearing over the years to guns, loud machinery, high pressure area, etc., in the Navy. Audiologist indicated high pitched sounds cutout, such as voices made small children and women! Works great in the woods so far. Here critters moving around in dry leaves or water clearer. Am waiting for the turkey season, as I have the same problem of hearing birds in the distance.

The one issue that I have experienced is noise across the mikes during windy days. But on those calm early mornings can hear well.

Wind is an issue, I agree. Makes it impossible to hear when wind is up.

And trying to walk through dry leaves while wearing them really showed me how noisy I actually am to critters with perfect hearing.

exactly!!!!

I have said so many times to my friends and family how noisy they are. I try and walk softer due to the sound I hear while wearing the Walker game ears. I also turn them down low so it doesn't drive me crazy lol
