CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
The only thing wrong with this load is that with the light CZ O/U it kicks like a big boy.
Other than that, it's going to be a great load to shoot at turkeys with.
1038 fps, 10240 psi
40 yds, 10" and 10-20" numbers, with 9-1/2s and Trulock .520.

Outstanding
Re: CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
So is .520 the way to go? I just picked up a Citori , in 28 gauge. Will test the factory chokes, first, and see what I get. Thanks, Hal.

Beautiful. Man, after you came up with that 1-1/2oz load, I kinda figured we had topped out, payload wise. Congrats on safely stuffing another 1/8oz in there! I'm still shooting the 1-5/16oz in one of mine, by the way. You'll be hearing from me

Awesome work Hal!
Re: CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
Good job! Now in the heck are you able to get more shot in there? That there is the crazy.
Re: CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
Let's see what develops in factory loads in 3" for 28 ga. Once that happens, the components will most likely follow from reloading sites. Then it's game on. Brass hulls are already available and since they don't depend on crimping to hold the shot in the shell, 2 3/4" chambered guns would work without modification with wads designed for 3" loads. Gil

It will be interesting to see what develops for sure.GLS wrote: ↑August 28th, 2017, 6:18 am Let's see what develops in factory loads in 3" for 28 ga. Re: CZ 28 ga, 1-5/8 oz
Fiocchi already loads 3" 28 ga. ammo (Golden Pheasant) and has for a couple of years anyway but they won't sell the hulls and of course longer hulls won't do you any good without longer wads, I think Hal has just about maxed out the 28 ga. TPS with his new 1 5/8 load and unfortunately the TPS is the ONLY non toxic 28 ga. wad out there right now.hawglips wrote: ↑August 28th, 2017, 9:34 amIt will be interesting to see what develops for sure.GLS wrote: ↑August 28th, 2017, 6:18 am Let's see what develops in factory loads in 3" for 28 ga.
