It's some of my favorite type of countryside. Throw in a nice trout stream and then I would be in heaven.

I've only hunted the Pine Ridge. It's beautiful country, but a good chunk of it burned in 2012. There is still plenty of huntable terrain, but some of the country in my photos is burnt toothpicks now.

Thanks hobbes like I wasn't going to miss it out there enough this spring without you posting these pics. Now even though I can't afford it I'm checking the openers to try and swing a hunt through . Nice pics as usual though.

Broken Arrow Wilderness is a place I've been in Nebraska. They are really down home people and will work very hard to get you a bird. I went on a 4 day hunt and I saw over 40 Gobblers. Many I couldn't get up on but the last day I had a blast seeing and hearing more than ever. Great folks and nice affordable cabins to stay in. Look them up on the web, they also have a business during the summer but it's the same folks. They are in Fullerton, Nebraska.

a bunch of years, I've hunted that area where them pictures are. if you're going north from the state park towards chadron on 385 to the right (east) there is a lot of open land, that burned in 2006.
