2016 PA#1,TSS 1st
Morning started out like dog poop in 2 spots so i headed to another, with fog and very cool temps i wasn't to exicited but i made the huge walk anyways. So,i was just cuttn an runn and struck a good gobble about 200 yards out and then i heard a couple jakes try to gobble, then a couple hen's yelp a few times, got them with'n 75 yards out and i hear jake yelps followed by one trying to gobble,no way, i said to my self, one was a good bird but ya never can tell by a gobble sometimes. So im in quite mode for probably 5 minutes and hear nothing over the knoll, hit the box a few yelps nothing, hit the mouth call ,BANG,sounded alittle closer, scanning the woods im looking out in front and it looked like flourescent white and red with a full fan in and out of strut,3 jakes, 2 hens and this boy coming slow but sure.AND OF COURSE no matter were ya set up there is always something in the way,a downed tree. The 3 jakes and hens went by the tree but he went behind it,i said it always happens to me,lolol, anyway he come back from behind the tree and gave me an open shot while in strut and i took it,don't like to shoot them that way but i wasn't waiting, first tss bird, won't be the last.42 paces folded him, thanks SHOOTER!! for the loads, had about 4-6 shot on the opposite side of entry between feathers and meat,i am impressed with TSS

Re: 2016 PA#1,TSS 1st
My philosophy of haveing a scope on a shotgun is going to get a huge change this off season, going back to all fiber optic, adjustable.I could not get the bird yesterday to stop and tried to follow it through the woods and had to look up all the time to find an open spot, scope is gett'n ripped off, never missed a bird till i put a stinking scope on!!!!!!!!Yea,bout 5 years in a row ive missed at least 1,all with a scope/redot.appalachianassassin wrote:it happens man. Still liking my red or white bead boys!!!
Can't say nothing bad about Doug's danged ole T/C single shot anymore. He's killed more Tom's with it this year, than he has in the past 4 years!!!!
