I found a Tom Teaser Call Girl can make some decent gobbler yelps also.

My go-to gobbler call is a custom long box that Misfire made about 8 or 9 years ago.

John Eddleman makes a great Turpin style gobbler call. I asked him to make one for me and he added it to his line. One side is Jake with the other being adult gobbler yelps. Nice deep clucks and yelps plus a hearty gobble. Good call.

Longbox - My Terefencko Headless Horseman

Mouth calls - Denny Gulvas 4 Runner

Slate - Cody World Class in Glass with a Lyman snakewood striker

Others work just as well, I switch off and on depending on my mood.

Don't mean to change the subject, but whatever happened to Ole Misfire???
Ordered one of his Wood Duck calls right after I sent you those other ones. Man, that thing sounded so wonderful, I ordered another from him. Have not heard from him since though.

Jim pollard's bat wing diaphragm, the black with blue top reed does great. I sometimes use a gobbler yelp late in the spring season when the gobblers start grouping back together

? For some of you seasoned veterans. Can all calls make gobbler yelps and clucks?
I've got a Quaker boy box call that I can't get that deeper tone on. Don't know if it's just me or what. I'm leaning towards the call not being capable.
I'll be honest I haven't heard gobblers be vocal like this till 5 years ago in the fall and I killed him but it wasn't from me doing any gobbler yelps, he came to my kee kee. Up until then I just thought they gobbled, spit and drummed, and the alarm putt as I call it.
I have a spring creek box call that can make some decent gobbler yelps on (I think  ). Sounds good to me and I called up a gobbler in the fall of 2012 with it. I've had to watch YouTube videos to learn this cause I haven't heard them very many times in the fall do this to try to mimick it. Thanks

@ ole raspy, not all calls can make good gobbler yelps. The cadence of gobbler yelps is something often overlooked but it can be mimicked on most calls and sometimes it is the cadence that makes the difference.

Interesting feedback. Will check these out.

Not only the cadence, but the yelp of a gobbler is a bit slower...more dranw out. I think that is more important in making a gobbler yelp.

A good long box can make some nice gobbler helps. I just play a slightly different part of the rail. My Austin Hornberger short box (maple over black limbs) has some decent gobbler helps in it too.

I think a long box is the perfect fall caller - kee-kee on one end of the rails, gobbler yelps on the other end, with hen and jake yelps in between. I run a Snodgrass box year round, my favorite box!

I can make some good gobbler yelps on my X-Terminator mouth call. I had 9 longbeards within 4 steps of me today. There is not a man alive that would have guessed the yelps coming from some of them would have been a gobbler.

For a mouth yelper, I run a Mountain Hollow Gobbler Getter
