this is how i swirl paint wing bones or just about anything just in case you want to do it.
1. get a plastic or metal container (like the kind you use to put wall-paper in when you are installing wallpaper
2. fill up about 2/3 with water
3. get u some oil base paint like for model cars ( get 4 or five different colors).
4. now take a small object (like what u use to stir coffee)
5. dip the stir stick in oil base paint and hold over water and let it drip (drip only just a few drips) on top of water.it will just ball up on top of water as oil and water doesn't mix.
6. dip some of the other colors in the same manner (endless combinations).
7.now GENTLY take a clean coffee stick and barely skim the water going thru the colors and run the colors together (endless looks)
8. now take wingbone or object with ends sealed up and put something in the end so u can slowly lower it under water and thru colors
9. while the object is under water and not touching anything take a paper towel and skim the water to remove whats left of oil paint (so you don't drag your object back thru paint floating on surface).
10. raise object up and tap it to remove air bubble traps
11. if any craters left on painted object from water drops just use your finger and push the edges down (may look rough at this point but don't worry.
12.let dry and put clear over object (i use pro-kote) like what you use on fishing pole guides to cover guide wraps.
set back and enjoy your work of art
