One striker to run everything in your collection what ya picking? I know alot of folks have one striker to run X call and another to run Y.. But what is the striker you would turn to first to run a handful of new potcalls you have never ran..
Re: Striker

I've got a homemade elm striker that is the best all around striker in my vest. It's one piece and sweet.

Purpleheart, yellowheart, or monkeywood.
Re: Striker
Whittled this sitting on the porch at turkey camp few years back, its maple and runs awesome on everything. I also have a single piece osage striker hand whittled by an old turkey hunter from West Virginia - I ALWAYS carry those two strikers.

Re: Striker
Its funny MKW turned me onto them, good grief 5-6-7 years ago, nobody talked of them.. Now you see that suggestion where ever you go online.. MKW is quite the trend setter.. Its a great striker.. I love mine either know Sal stole it.. The monkey wood is an awesome versatile striker but I have come to love a good laminate the last few years.Hobie wrote:Dads Monkey wood with a flared tip

Re: Striker
I have a heavy hickory striker from Cody Calls that I kept and sold the call. It runs well on just about everything except aluminum and copper
Re: Striker
It would be a tie between a bolivian rosewood striker made by Steve Reeves and the little striker by Knight & Hale, I believe it was called Black Magic.
