Slate Call Recommendations
Looking for feedback on a good slate call. Want to buy one for my buddy who host me every year down in TN as a token of appreciation.
Re: Slate Call Recommendations
I've had a few. The only slate surface that stays around is from Ray Tomkins.
Re: Slate Call Recommendations
Wow, there are a ton of great slate calls out there. One of my recent purchases is from Natural Addiction Custom Calls and every call I've gotten from Billy / Del are killers. I've killed a pile of hung up gobblers with my good ole "Thunderdome'' also.

Re: Slate Call Recommendations
If your friend is from Tennessee, contact a TN premium call maker-Brad @ B & C Turkey Calls ( will soon produce a NWTF Championship Call) or Matt McClain, a first class individual w/ great classic calls. Both of these call makers are producing great slate turkey calls.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I placed an order this morning for a Matt McClain maple pot with slate. Hopefully he likes it more than his Primos Jackpot.
Re: Slate Call Recommendations
Behind the curve on this one. Was gonna say, Ed Jenkins (Ghostmaker Calls) is a TN boy and a multiple award winning callmaker. Clint Corder same deal. Mr. McClain makes a fine, fine call and you should be very pleased! And a 2nd vote for Lonnie Sneed, for the $ you can't beat his slate or glass calls. They are not the most finished calls but each one is packed FULL of turkey. Lonnie won his awards back in the day. And he is getting up there now. 75-78? something like that. Best get one while you can.

I picked up a Pittman two face this year and so far I really like it. I will try it out in a couple weeks and see how she does.

A large vote for Andy Kaiser

Lot of excellent choices. Don't be like some people I know and buy all of them.
