Hi Everyone....
I have enough spurs to make a necklace...
I have some beads also that Im going to putting between the spurs...
My question to you is what do you use for an actual chain or whatever to put through the spurs...
I don't want it to break while Im out in the woods hunting as I plan on wearing it around my neck...
Anyone have any ideas or pictures they wanna share?
Thanks Perry

Use a leather bootlace ,or a black round nylon type bootlace. I have seen necklaces made from these, very strong and they don't look tacky like some chains can.

Some of the nice displays in this thread has inspired me to finally do something with some of the spurs I've collected over the years. I'm not real patient when it comes to stringing spurs etc, so this is what I came up with. I opted for a metallic chain instead of the traditional leather or rope style for some added bling! I think I will wear this hunting this year, but I will sub a brown bucket. I like it!

How dare you. That man is a legend and has probably let more turkeys go than most of you will ever kill. Show a little respect. :angry1: :notworthy:

What's most impressive, to me, about the bucket'o spurs is that I don't think Ronnie has ever traveled much to collect the easy spurs from those dumb western turkeys. A bucket of Eastern turkey spurs, killed without modern crutches, is quite impressive.
Working on my bucket!

Exactly, Mike. He killed a good bait of them in Alabama and everybody knows there are "NO" turkeys in Alabama. That bucket has filled up much faster since he has been asking for advice on these hunting forums.....lol

Wouldn't mind following him around the turkey woods. If ole Ronnie gets after a gobbler, he's in trouble!

His only crutch is that he is a real momma's boy ! :toothy7:

And Roy taught him to age gobblers by the sound of their gobble !

And from what I've seen it's filling up a lot faster than most realize.

Yep, if there had been an internet in the 60's I'd be on my second bucket by now.

Yep, true on both accounts

I wonder what Roy's doing now, well I have a pretty good idea. :shaking2:
