Boat mod's

Post by ArkansasDon »

changing duck boat over into bowfishing rig. Cant duck much anymore work has me busy, took up bowfishing. Been working on it off and on for 9 months.
started off from this
Image
decided to weld up some alumin 1"tubing & 2" alumin angle for the framing of the flush mount deck, installed a 3 bank charger & 3 battery trays.
Image
Image
made up a control panel for the light, and battery check with fuse box
Image
Image
Image
Image
made up the light/knee rails from 1" thin wall tubing
Image
Image
Image
changed the troller motor shaft from a 40" to 56"

Image
building the deck and attaching the light / knee rail. Install the rubber for the floor.

installing the trolling motor plug & bow mount for the troller motor.

Mounted the LED Lights 6 27W LED's on the side, 3 per side, 2 40w LED's in front. Made the risers for the light from solid Alumin 3/4" round stock, drilled & tapped them, sand blasted them & moly coated them in satin black.

I'm building the box for 2 55amp Powermax converters, and still have to finish the wiring for the lights.

I think you got a nice rig there! I have been bowfishing for 42 years, and I have hunted out of several diff kind of rigs. I think you will like what you have. I actually held the world record on grass carp for 10 years.
1988 to 1998 with a 40lb. It has been broken countless times since.

thanks, still have to build the generator rack, and finish the wiring. The generator is a 4000w 3500w working.I finished the box that holds 2 55amp converters and all the wiring for that. Changes A/C to D/C so the generator can power my troller & charge the lights when the batteries run low. The genny rack will mount over the outboard.

All you need is a motor, pedestal, cables, brake handle, some bearing, a little metal, prop.

Well put that on your next project. We did one a few years ago.

We used one of these, which saved alot of money. It worked well for our usage. moved a little faster than standard trolling speeds. I think it was a 13hp. Most are or was using the bigger 23+ engines, gets much more expensive.

Well we all used a buddies boat. One did most of the work as he used the boat the most. One bought the motor, one bought the prop, and one most of the metal.

Looks like you are real handy with things, you did a great job on everything I have seen. Much better than I would or could have done.
