Bonfire dinner

Post by ICDEDTURKES »

Outside normal brat dogs can say I've never cooked over a bonfire. T bones, sal fired up charcoal grill for garlic herb asparagus and foil wrapped baby yukons and beefey onion soup mix.

That looks great, when we were kids we would all bring something from home like meat, potatoes, canned fruit and meet at Big Sandy Creek and dig a fire pit and throw the spuds in then about 1/2 hour later we would cook deer, elk or moose steaks on a stick, best eating meat I have ever eaten.

Thank You
Lol everyone we cook for. "You guys should open a restaurant" That isn't bragging, we put alot of thought into stuff. Last weekend we were in Detroit visiting my family, everyone wanted to help, my aunt said let them do there thing. We work so good together. Most nights you'll find sal and I reading cookbooks watching food Network. My phone rings every weekend all my friends and family have bought blackstones or kamado "um how do I cook this"

We have the finacial backing it's just so risky. Have a few other less risky ideas were debating that would require a lot less capitol I'll. Pm for your opinion.

Did bbq 3 days a week for 12-13 years got burnt out. But next week may fire up kamados. Miss BBQ again.. Sucks cooking for 2, we throw out enough leftovers feed a third world country lol

Have you tried a Chuck eye, not Chuck steak. They come from fifth rib Ribeyes come from 6th to 12th. There's only 2 per cow. It was always the butchers cut as he took them home. Smaller than a ribeye 6-8 oz but they're normally half price of a ribeye and thick. Perfect for reverse sear.

We buy them alot due to the fact it's essentially a ribeye, cheap, thick and we're not big eaters. We marinade all our steaks in Worcestershire sauce for a few hours, brings out beef flavor.

Try your local meat shop.

I’ve heard you talk about the chuck eye. We don’t have a local butcher shop, per se, and buy the 3-4 pack of ribeyes from Costco. Crazy awesome, good. I’m a big guy but can only eat about half of one. They are rich!! Delicious, but rich! Eat the rest for lunch or breakfast, down the road. Nothing better than a rare-ish medium rare ribeye on a smoking hot grill. Crispy outside, done perfect inside!
Gosh.. I’m killin’ myself here!

Looks awesome perfectly cooked I'mma 125 to 135 f guy med overdone for me. When I go out its rare as they normally screw up. Hard cooking for Sal's ma, she's well done person, fire up charcoal throw her steak on, give it 20 minute flip, 20 minutes add more charcoal for our steaks as her stays on.

We're not big eaters either. Like you said 1/2 steak and sides. We buy big steak we split. Even going out we agree on something we split.I use to over indulge, then I was bloated, eating gas pills and Tums. I'm the lil guy in my group of friends they're 250+, I look at their plates an ready to puke. Or go Chinese buffet, your there 2 hrs so they can get their 7th plate

Funny you post them buttons. Craving them sauteed, hit three stands can't find them. We normally shop fruit markets road side stands in summer
