A little fishing...
Re: A little fishing...
That was fantastic. I would rather watch that then the shows on TV. Great job.

That's what I'm talkin' about. That was nice. I've done a ton of stream fishing in northern Wi., years ago. Mostly brook trout, with an occasional brown thrown in. I am not a fly fisherman, per se. Mostly all spinning equipment, and a worm.. Well done..
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Nice job and pretty fishing. Reminded me of the Little T before the damn dam. You are a meticulous and excellent tier. Saw your sulfur videos. Very nice patterns. During the sulfur hatch on the Hiwassee, I got by with a simple emerger-sulfur dubbing on a #18-!6 Dai-Riki with a dun deer hair short wing, angled 45 away from the eye. It was simple and fast to tie and deadly. Hope you haven't already seen this clip of Sawyer tying his PT nymph and dry. It's a classic. I found it today on another blog. Scroll down to the entry and video. Gil

LET'S GO TROUT FISHING
Re: A little fishing...
Thanks for the comments, suggestions and the link. I'm all about fly fishing at the moment but will soon tansition to all about bowhunting for deer in a couple weeks. I'm always working on more realistic and functional flies for fishing and sulphurs are getting all my attention at the moment. Here's a new dun pattern I just came up with and hope it proves worthwhile as soon as I can find time to get to test it.
It lands upright when dropped on the desk but in the event it tips over on the water I hope it will pass for a cripple. I tied up several inverted hook patterns but hook ups proved to be the problem. This latest experiment has got to work, I couldn't keep from getting stuck while tying it. If a trout breathes on it he's getting the steel.Re: A little fishing...
That's good stuff Theron ! Thanks for sharing !
Re: A little fishing...
Really nice video and super neat fly I hope it works for you. Makes me want to get my stuff out and tie a few.

Thanks,
The vid camera is a kodak playsport and waterproof. I made a camera mount using a rubber cable end cap, a 10-24 machine screw, washers and a rubber o-ring. It fits snugly on the cork handle of my folding wading staff. I stuck the staff into the streambed and stuck the camera on it for a monopod. That was my first attempt of using it, reckon I'll be using it more. Had a ton of footage of small to medium fish, like an hour of footage. Had to whittle it down for youtube and the 9 minute vid is a good representation.
