Well, I'm not an expert, but we have done pretty good in the last few weeks.
Our airplane club had it's annual club picnic the other day, and I always do catfish.
Had to feed over a hundred people,...ouch. Probably had 30 to 40 fish in a few days.
Here are some pics of a few that were caught.

Take care, Tommy

Catfishing is quite easy if you were not stuck behind a desk all the time!

Hopefully we will tear em up this weekend. I've got livers wrapped and ready to go and nightcrawlers. We will see what works. Hopefully the high water and heat doesn't shut em down. We will see!

Cut eel in about 2 inch long pieces and use a 7/0 or 7/0 hook with about 4 feet of tough nylon string (I use the same string i use to rig duck decoys). On the other end tie a snap swivel. Find a low hanging branch (make sure the branch is green and not dead) and wrap the swivel end of the line around it a couple of times and the close the swivel back on the line hanging down. Give it about an hour or so. If you cant find eel use live bream or goldfish. With live bait it wont take long. Works best at night.

Oh, sorry forgot to tell how we caught them.
Shad my man, shad.
If you are using fishin poles, get FL line and use a blacklight. if you use a spinning reel, cast your shad pieces out and let sink, just leave your bail open, and wait til the line takes off, and set the hook.
We caught most on trot lines, but still used shad pieces.
Most of my Cat rigs are Baitcasters with clickers, just leave it cocked, but the clicker on, and wait til he takes off.
If I can't catch enough shad in the casting net, I will not even go.

Funny thing, is my my bud Rodney, caught this monster on a flippin jig for bass, down on the TN river.
3rd one he has caught this way, this year. He said he had one on a week ago for over 3 hours, and never saw it, but finally got wrapped up in some brush and broke off.

Few more pics of me and my bud Rodney. He is one of those bigshot pro's on the FLW tour, but he is a great guy. He's been like my little brother since he was a kid,... what am I sayin, he's still a kid,....lol. My goofy wife from China even calls him " lil brother".

Take care, Tommy

P.S. yea he is a turkey killer too, he even calls them with his own voice, he's not too bad.

Tommy
Where in the world are you allowed to keep that many bass?

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

AL allows 10 bass per person, must be 15" min.
These were taken on the TN river at Lake Guntersville. There were 3 of us.
I personally don't keep bass to eat, but Rod has several fries through the year.

I just remembered,... he put those bass back in the lake here at my house.
They were only out of the water a few mins for the pic.

Cooler full of Blues I caught on the Tennessee River. These went towards a fish fry. Caught all of these on nightcrawlers below the dam.
