Measure it, weigh it and have a fiberglass model made to the specs. You can have your fish mounted and eat it, too. Gil

P.S. Years ago I caught a 51 lb. sailfish off the Georgia coast fishing with a late buddy. I took the fish to the taxidermist's local representative. The company was a well known taxidermy company with an international reputation among big game anglers. I was notified by the company when they received my billfish. Months later, the company sent me a bill for the balance. I had paid a deposit for shipping it to the company and for half the cost. The mount was shipped to my office where it stayed on the wall for about a year. The local representative's second man in charge called me and wanted to know if I still wanted my fish mounted. I told him I'd be down to look at it in the freezer. It was mine, tagged with my name and date caught. Some idiot had broken the bill off about half way. When the local rep came back to town, I raised hell with him and the taxidermy company. I received a check from the company for all costs and they didn't want the fish back. I gave it to a secretary for her den. I didn't need a reminder how I'd almost been screwed by someone I knew locally.

That’s nuts! I sure my son wants a replica so he can save the filets.

He has 4 nice sized filets from the others he caught.

Yup. Smoking them is the best route to go. They are extremely oily.

Gonna cook some filets this afternoon. Gotta buy some lemons and cut them thin to lay on the sheet for the fish to grill on top of. Darren Dye’s wife told me to do it that way. Filets won’t stick to the pan

Sounds like a plan. Lakers are more like browns in the oil department. I hope this works for you.
