Limbsaver Slip on Pad
As the weather begins to turn, Sal keeps putting more and more layers on while we are hunting.. Her H&K M1 fits her great during early season hunts, but as the season progresses it becomes more difficult for her to mount..
I want to take some LOP off of the gun and feel the easiest way would be the Sims Slip on pad with only 1/2 inches of padding..
I have a feeling even with the reduced rubber, the recoil reduction will be better than the 1 inch brick currently on the gun.
Has anyone shot the 1/2 pad from Sims?

Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
personally NO, my wife Sally has a regular gind to fit Sims, it seems it broke down in my safe , it got all stick gooie. I'm redoing her turkey gun and put a Morgan Adjustable on it. It moves up or down.

Dude, I have heard that about the Sims... I was too looking at the Kick Eez adjustable slip on, I am curious as to how many of the 1/4 inch inserts come with the recoil pad?
Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
Hey Tom
I dont have the slip on but I have the Sims Limbsaver total recoil pad on my Benelli SBE2. Man it really helped with those 3 1/2" Mag loads. Sims claims it's 40% less recoil.

I've had them melt too. Hate to say it, but I'm glad I'm not the only one. Still don't know why it happened.

Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
a friend of mine told me that he had one go bad (as most of us have) and he called them up about it.
From what he told me, they told him to keep barrel down and butt up to keep it from being compressed while sitting in the safe etc.
Prolonged compression in a fixed postion seems to make the gel come out.

Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
Kick-Eez for the actual pad but nothing much beats the Shooter's Friend slip-on recoil pad by Riekens.
LINK: The Shooter's Friend Slip-on Recoil Pad (Click Here)
Slip-on and only $20. They are made in Evansville, IN where I grew up.
One note: take Shooter's Friend Recoil Pads off of your shotgun when not in use. Prolonged contact with its polyurethane surface can discolor a stock's finish.

Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
Strange I have two shotguns with the limbsaver on them (one for 4 years) both resting on the pad in the gun closet for over four years and no issues? Maybe I just got lucky. I did just go check the older one to make sure!!

Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
That would work as a huge benefit.. Working a turkey, just stick it to your shoulder in the mounted position, you have both hands free to work a box or pot..hoobilly wrote:I bought one 10 years ago for my sons Beretta 20 ga and its all sticky looks like crap. still works the same, just carpet n stuff will stick to it.mossy835 wrote:Strange I have two shotguns with the limbsaver on them (one for 4 years) both resting on the pad in the gun closet for over four years and no issues? Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
Why not get a gel implant in your shoulder? Problem solved. Then your not always buying pads for different guns.

I wanted my wife to get implants...
think I can get her one at a time? Tell her she needs to get the right one done, and then the left so she will be ambidextrous.

Sal got a really big bonus and mentioned implants, normally she would have spent on hunting stuff.. For some reason, I did not dispute her idea on this idea of use of capitol despite it not being hunting stuff.hoobilly wrote:Gobbler wrote:Why not get a gel implant in your shoulder? Problem solved. Re: Limbsaver Slip on Pad
...so if I understand this right Tom,,,,,Limbsaver is making Sal noise-dampening, recoil-reducing implants?
On a related note, Sal's shooting lessons with me are now free of charge.
