301 Stevens
301 Stevens
Got the 301 looking spiffy. It was an anniversary present for my wife. Since she prefers a scope over a red dot. I mounted a 1.75 -4 x32 Bushnell. Cool thing is I have no idea where the scope came from . I stumbled across it in my gun cabinet. For the life of me I don't remember buying it. ?????. Anyway I started with rings I had on hand. Extension rings that were way too high. Based on some very much appreciated info from Ricky.Adrian, and a few others it was time for a trip to Cabelas (BONUS). Went with Leupold rings .both low and medium. As well as a Carlsons hammer extension. To get proper clearance for the hammer I had to use the mediums. The power adjustment ring wouldn't allow the scope to set down into the rings. Be heading to the range soon to check out the factory choke. Most likely gonna go to a .555 Indian Creek. First pic is with the first set of rings that didn't work out.[/attachment]
Put you plans in the nail scarred hands.
