Versamax Safety Issue

Post by doc1059 »

I have a Versamax Turkey. Love the gun, amazing patterns, manageable recoil, cycles smoothly, but have issues with the oversized safety. While carrying it with a sling and running and gunning have found that the larger safety is inadvertently easily depressed. Anyone else had a similar issue? I have had the opposite problem with the trigger so I put a custom 3-4lb trigger in. Don’t like simply walking with the gun slung over the shoulder and a bump to the Turkey vest and the safety will pop off. Never an issue like this with my 11-87, 870s, Mossbergs or Berettas

Any ideas if it’s possible to stiffen up the spring in the safety?

I have not, but I guess I won't. Mine is sling over my right shoulder, so safety would be pointed outward. That said mine isn't overly sensitive either.
