Step by step. I took it to my buddy’s machine shop and dropped it off. A few days later I answered the phone and he said it was ready. Then I drove back to my buddy’s machine shop and picked it up.

What he did was cut a groove in the EGW mount like the original Picatinny rail had. That allows the mount to sit over that hump on the gun. That lowered the sight 3/8” and gave the gun a cleaner look.

What about a Beartooth comb riser kit if you don't have a buddy with a machine shop? Raised mine 3/8". Clear view of Vortex Venom on 301T. Add/subtract 3/8". Same, same other than aesthetics. Am I missing something?

You’ll see turkey hunters march to the beat of a different drum

For no rhyme of reason we do odd things. Like cut down perfectly good barrels and have them rethreaded to lose a few ounces 😂

Got it. Been living pointers vs setters all my life. Good ones are good ones Regardless of hair length. But if I get a setter... I have shears. Looks like a pointer real soon.....except the tail! Love a setter flag! BTW ....who would buy a Chevy????

Its what I did on my little Mossberg 500. Added a Beartooth which also makes recoil more tolerable.

I'm gonna drill and tap my TriStar to accommodate one of these. Question being with the narrow flat top of the receiver from the factory dovetail, would the radial mount still work or should I get the flat base?

I am 99.9% sure the EGW .670 contour universal will fit perfect once your extra hole is drilled to mount it.

I saw a pic of a stoeger I believe and it looked terrible. Only had the corners as points of contact. I took measurements of my receiver and the "radius I came up with is .687". Of course that is measuring across the flat. I just didn't want a big gap between the receiver and the mount.

Would like to put one on a Stoeger 3020. Concerned about a proper fit. Anyone have one mounted on a 3020, if so how does it fit?

Thanks

buy the EGW mount for it. You just need to pick and choose where you want it mounted. further back, midway or closer to the from top the receiver.

Thanks for posting this! 👍 I may put a FF3 on my SXP if it doesn’t shoot to poa, and I already have a FF3 on a crappy pistol that I can rob.😬

The other thing I will mention is if you wonder if it will fit your gun, go to EGW’s website and look up the mount. Even though it is a universal mount they have a list of all the guns that it will positively fit.
