Went and shot some more with my son this evening
Started out with a 12mph stiff east wind. Calmed down after a hour and was beautiful out.
I shot my Styer some more and with the 3-9x40 scope I actually Kentucky windaged it at 500 and smoked the gong several times. Pretty happy with that. Was shocked at how flat it shot with the 95gn Winchester DeerSeasn XP’s
Told my son to buy some of the DS XP’s for his 6.5 creedmoor or as I lovenly refer to it as the 6.5 gaymoore.
He found that several types of ammo shoot the same in his rifle (700 Remington) and liked how the DS XP’s shot at long range. Here’s a 3 shot group. 2 shots had been marked as we ran out of ammo and had to go back to his house for another box . So I don’t think the 3 shot is shabby for 700 yards and factory hunting ammo.
More rifle shooting..

So speaking of the "gong". I see more and more of sporting good shops having these steel blaze orange plates and stands for sell. I would like to have one, but they are like $100+. There has to be a lot cheaper version somewhere to grab and paint it myself???
