Recommendations on a new semi automatic turkey gun

Post by Holifield »

I am narrowing down my choices to these three
Remington Versa Max sportsman turkey
Winchester SX4
Stoeger M3500
I've never owned a 3.5" but I figure if I get a new shotgun I'll get something that shoots 3.5" shells even if I never use them.

Do any of you folks own any of these? Pros or cons?

I think there is a stoger 3500 on here for sale. May already be sold.

I have a Browning Maxus (browning equivalents to sx4) and my hunting buddy has the Versamax Turkey.

In my opinion, for purely turkey, it’s hard to go wrong with the Versamax Turkey. I wanted an all around 12, so I went Maxus.

That's one thing that has me leaning towards the Remington, it's set up for Turkeys short, light, rifle sights.
The SX4 also looks good because I have a pile of Invector Plus chokes.
The M3500 is inertia, which I like....

I have a 3.5” SX2 and shoot 3” loads. Im happy with it and recommend that you look hard at the SX4 since you have an inventory of chokes to choose from. Good luck and keep us updated with your purchase decision.
