Aguila 22

Post by Hoobilly »

Last September Shooter came up to Indiana to try killing some whistle pigs. We tried but it was so hot and humid it was miserable up here. He gave me enough 22 ammo to start a small war..

Just now getting around to trying it out. This is at 50 yards with a 1-4.5 banner Bushnell scope. Not much scope to really be awesome and not a good rest. Shot off a bench I made and just laid the stock over my left hand and squeezed as good as I could. I was surprised by how well it shot. Hoping to upgrade to a gooder scope and place a sling bolt so I can put the bipod on it and try it at 100. Been a few years since I have seen a good group from this Gun. It loved the Federal hollowpoints but those are non existent around here.

I’m hoping I can repeat this at 100 after I get a good scope mounted.

Remington 582 bolt action magazine fed. Was my grandfathers gun. He killed a lot of grays with it in Ky. Broke the front site pin off a while back. Was very accurate with the Federal hollowpoints. Can’t find them anymore. But it didn’t shoot as good as these Aguilas. I’ll take a picture of tonight and post it

Federal .22 hollow points are plentiful from the ammo dealers and some have free shipping

Got ya. I've always had a thing for accurate 22's. I have two CZ 452 American models. They both shoot great with Wolf Match Target and CCI Mini-Mag HP.

Thanks Ricky!
And I’m mistaken! It’s a Remington 581!
The 582 must be the one with a tube fed magazine.
