Mount recommendations for Burris FF3
Hi guys. I’m looking for the lowest mount available for a FF3 to put on my Franchi Affinity 20 ga.. I’m leaning towards a SumToy but don’t know if there is anything out there that may be lower. Thanks!
Re: Mount recommendations for Burris FF3
Sumtoy makes a great mount, but don’t get caught up on a super low mount......you’re really not gaining much with the 1/8” -1/4” your lowering it.

The Burris mount designed for the Marlin 336 works great and is about as low as you can get, but it’s no better than the sumtoy.

I put a Speed Bead mount on my daughters 20 ga. Affinity Compact, a fellow modified a Benelli M2 12 ga. mount for it and it works great, the FF III sits low enough you can sight right down the rib and use the bead if you want.

I am thinking of adding red dot too one of my shotguns. When I first started looking at different mounting options the ones that sat closest to the gun looked better to me. I have added some Williams universal slugger sights to one gun and they sit up very high. I discovered that for me the higher sight points way better. Now I am thinking I may want the higher red dot mount.

I did the same for my benelli 28ga UL. Bought the speed bead and just ground it down. Probably took 20 minutes to fit it. I actually have to use a spacer to move it up a litte it is so low. My red dot sits right on top of my bead which provides a great check to make sure my red dot hasn't moved.turkeyinstrut wrote: ↑March 26th, 2018, 9:55 pm I put a Speed Bead mount on my daughters 20 ga. I've used both the Sumtoy and the 336. The 336 mount predate the Sumtoy mount. The advantage of the Sumtoy mount over the 336, at least to my thinking, is that it has a radius that matches and mates with the curve of the gun's receiver or barrel. This a sturdier than the 336. Both are low mounts.

Thanks guys. I think I will go with the SumToy. I like that it matches the radius of the receiver and probably more sturdy.

Re: Mount recommendations for Burris FF3
I’ve settled on the FF3 and am going to order a SumToy mount. The FF3 comes with a Picatinny mount. I’m assuming I can take that off to mount to the SumToy, correct?

Re: Mount recommendations for Burris FF3
That is correct, the Sumtoy mount accepts the FF III footprint.
