Waterproofing your overshot cards

Post by Deom »

As I'm getting ready to start loading my own TSS, I was wondering if anyone does anything to the overshot card to help with waterproofing it?

Fingernail polish then Elmer's glue. I like having some type of waterproof applied just in case.

My cousin is using long beards and they started leaking buffer in his guns chamber, so yeah it's probably a good idea to waterproof hand load overshot cards.

Ok, I usually put nail polish on my factory loads because they always seem to leak, just wasn't sure about putting it on the cards. Thanks!

Nail polish shouldn't raise pressures, but I have to believe that elmer's glue, as dense as it is, would.

My fold crimps get elmers glue and when it dries, nail polish. My tribute to Gold Hunter's videos.

I still think Alex Plus is the way to go for fold crimps. It dries very flexible, and stays put.
