575-585 makes for nice evenly distributed patterns. There is no need for the ten ring to have more than 250. A filled 10-20 allows for some forgiveness inreal world situations like bird moving, adrenaline flowing, and awkward shooting positions. Most of the tight patterns are real good 15" patterns with a weak 15-20. 250 for me at 40 equates to 125-140 in the ten at 60yds.

I think this is great advice! I shoot a .562 IC which throws a nasty 15" circle of death like Pedro describes. So far it has worked for me so I ain't switching yet.pedro wrote:575-585 makes for nice evenly distributed patterns. There is no need for the ten ring to have more than 250. some Data I have collected over past two weeks, figured it would be easier to look at a spreadsheet than post a bunch of pattern pictures.
gives you an idea of what to expect, two different barrels tested and 4 different chokes. These were all just one shot groups not averages or anything.
Hope it helps.
*disregard 10" percentage for the 8's and 9's mix, it was calculated using straight 9's pellet count
