scored me a Venom red dot
got it on eBay.. used for $185 with a universal pistol mount I may have sold for $25. so hopefully I will only have $160 in this set up
I used a weaver base from a Savage Axis.. or maybe it was off a Savage 220 slug gun.. I can't rightly remember. Had to use a lil hand saw and a file to get it to fit. Lord willing I will be making bases here in the near future and start selling some that will fit a variety of red dots.

Did you ever confirm whether the Vortex Venom would fit on the Burris Marlin 336 base?

Thanks. I had one FFIII fail on me. Burris was great about replacing it quickly, but if the second one goes I'm going to try the Venom.guesswho wrote:I just got one a couple weeks ago and it does fit the Marlin 336 base.RapscallionVermilion wrote: Did you ever confirm whether the Vortex Venom would fit on the Burris Marlin 336 base?

it seems like it is better made. I like the Venoms on off & brightness settings being the same switchesRapscallionVermilion wrote:Thanks. I had one FFIII fail on me. It's like a molded rubber. I figure I'll loose mine the first day.01Foreman400 wrote:What type of protective cover come with it?

On your second picture, notice a glare. Need to check this out outside with someone at different shooting distances.
I had a reflex, a few years ago, spooked 3 gobblers along with hens, made a cover, but sold it and never looked back. Got a Vortex Spitfire red dot, great scope.

thats why it has a glare like that. Have used a Burris FF2 and the turkeys never noticed it
