After the Romp with the 10

Post by Shooter »

yesterday,... I've decided to let it go.
Rich videod me shooting the Browning Gold yesterday. Has not been fired in 15 or 20 years. HO LEE SCHITT!!!!
Jumped clean out of the rest, not to mention, knocked my lightweight arse back at least a foot.
I wish I could share the vid, but couldn't figure out how to even send it out in a message, let alone post it on here.
Anyways, anyone that knows of someone looking for an Auto 10, send them my way.

Was it Hal's 2 1/2 oz TSS load? The pressure on that load is really low and should not put the beat down on you like that.

Wrong about the Vette, GN, as I was in my Tahoe........Be a hell of a shot if he could hit it from where we were, I doubt a 50cal could make that shot...LOLL

No, pretty sure that was Shooter's load! Just who in the world do you think came up with all these 2 1/2oz loads to begin with???
One of em was one of my old CP lead loads,... 2oz of CP 4s @ 1600 ft.
I came up with that load about 35 years ago. :toothy7:
The other was a factory Rem Hevishot 4s.

Not only knock your lungs loose, but other parts of your body may suffer also. My shoulder is still sore from the 1 5/8 TSS 8 load he had me shoot through the new 3020. I was not expecting it.......and probably did not hold it tight enough, after all its just a 20...and not the BIG 10...

pretty gun!

I have to swap my barrels on my SP10. Prolly should clean that turkey barrel and find a load for it. IC 690 off the top of my head. 23" barrel with rifle sights

Could you keep pressure down on say a 3oz load. Be great for law enforcement in places like Ferguson.

I have 3 browning gold 10's that I goose/duck hunt with, but turkey hunt with a bps10. The bps10 kicks much harder then the golds. The older steel receiver gold 10 kicks even less then the newer lightweight aluminum receivers. I'm shooting 2 3/4 oz. 8.5 TSS...a modified load based of one I got from Hal. Puts up on average 475 in the 10" at 40yds. With (290/ounce) shot with a .720 choke.

Hurts the wallet and the shoulder each time I pull the trigger!

I actually worked up a 4 1/4oz load awhile back,.... seriously! Thought I'd see if I could break a thousand hits in the 10, but came up a little short. Only mid 900s, plus it was too dam hard to count!!
