New Build
New Build
Just in time for hunting season. I built this for a friend. Turned out great when we got all the parts in.
ARP spiral flute 16" barrel with linear compensator
Left hand receiver and bolt carrier group
Free float handguard
The scope and lower are mine.
Just a loaner till she can save for those.
I pulled shot #2. No tellin how good the group would have been.
Almost forgot. It's 6.8ARP. 110gr Sierra game kings.

Lookin good John!
Friend of mine put one together recently, and put a trigger in it. Made a huge difference, but can't remember what he paid.

Re: New Build
Got $725 in the upper. Left hand cost about $100 above right hand.
Add +-$200 for lower and then the cost of scope and mount.
Can't get a good auto for less. And before someone argues I don't consider a Rem auto good. Damn sure won't be as accurate.

I didn't want to say nothing Brice, cause I didn't want to rile the Boy. He's quite a bit bigger than me too!!!hoobilly wrote:Nice! I have owned a couple 7400's. They shot.."Ok" lol
I do realize that I have a Diamond, and most of those can't hardly keep them on paper.
742, Carbine, 18 1/2" barrel. I'm gonna enlighten him a fuzz next time he's up here.
Even shot it in a 1000 yd match once for chits and giggles. People there, that didn't know me were all making fun of me.
People that did, knew what was coming, and got the last laugh. Had to cut a beer can up and make a bunch of shims for the back scope base though. I think it shot 194 out of possible 200 if I remember correctly.
The pullers radioed up to the line and said half the bullets were hitting sideways.
Re: New Build
Ok. Load a few for this one and tell me what you think. Them Tenn. boys can build a barrel.
Won't say a Rem auto never shot good. Just not a regular occurrence. They don't call 'em Jammomatic for nothin.

True story Brice, no way I could have made that up. They figured the short barrel and not enough twist for the Nosler 180 BTs.hoobilly wrote:Sideways! They claimed it did well to about 800yds and then they tumbled.
It happened a week before Chris Kyle and the rest of his team from TX came up to shoot with us out at the AFB range.
Re: New Build
So. You guys gonna "Jack" my thread huh. I see how it's gonna be.
Re: New Build
Thanks. Gonna rob it to replace my Palmetto lower. Like it better and building an Anderson lower for her Left Rifle. She wants the horse emblem on her lower so I'm makin it happen.
Re: New Build
My buddy got on a 742 kick. He just had to have one, no way around it. I begged him not to do it but he did, and he overpaid.
He brought it to the house for me to sight in, no lie, 3" groups at 25 yards.
