My guess is that she is Mexican and that is the Rio Grande river..

So that's how they escape me everytime?! I knew they could burrow underground like a mole rat but didn't know they could swim rivers too. It's hopeless, we may never kill another.

Didn't know they did that. I've seen them wading shallow water, but didn't know they swam.
