Day 32 of the 2019 Ohio Squirrel Season

Post by HunterGKS »

It was 72, overcast, & breezy at 08:08 this morning when I was set-up in “my” primary turkey woods.
As seems to have become the standard, a fox appeared almost immediately at 08:13 on a tree in front
of me but out of range. I watched it moving from tree to tree for about 10 minutes before it disappeared.

At 08:45, 1 came in from behind me on my left but went into a brush pile never to be seen again.

At 08:56, I spotted movement in the green field & watch a gobbler slowly feed past me. I could hear him
mumbling & grumbling to himself & then he cut loose a single gobbler at 09:09. He has about an 8”-10”
beard.

At 10:35, he moved back across the field. It looked like something had put the wind up his tail feathers.
He wasn’t really running, more like a turkey trot. Hopefully, he’ll be around in 10 days.

I headed home at 11:15 with the temp at 81, a stronger breezy, & pretty cloudy. It’s acting like it might rain.
