Day 20 of the 2019 Ohio Squirrel Season

Post by HunterGKS »

It was 83 at 12:52 with a sunny sky & a breeze in the woods which made it
tolerable when I set up in “my” deer woods.

At 01:26, a fox was walking towards me with 2 nuts in its mouth. Number 9,
meet numbers 1-8.

At 02:01, I saw a bushy moving south but too far for a shot. I watched it
for several minutes when it started west. It was in range bur never gave
me a shot. At 02:14, another bushy showed up in the same spot & followed
the other fox. At 02:27, another showed up in the same spot but I didn’t see
where it went. At 03:11, a fox headed north along the same path as the other 2.

At 03:33, a red-tailed hawk landed on a limb about 40’ in front of me. It sat
there for a few minutes before moving east a short distance. About 10 minutes
later, I saw it fly up from the ground but couldn’t see if it had anything in its talons.

At 04:00, I moved to my deer blind. On the way to the blind, I found a new spot to
set up next time to put me near the travel route they used today. At 04:30, I headed
to the house with the temp at 84.

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Thx. I was a little surprised at where I hit him. I thought he was looking right at me
but his head must have been pointed up as he took the hit on the underside of the
jaw which blew the whole top & right side of his head off.
