Coyote Creek Calls Travis Alzate
Travis and I had discussed IndianCreek chokes forbhis testing of his 12 & 20ga coyote loads. Have him my thoughts and he tried 4 chokes total. 2 in each of the 12 & 20ga. He hit a home run..
Here’s his post from Facebook I copied to share here.
Been working on some scattergun ammo here lately. As well as getting a Winchester 1300 ready for some coyotes. I'm getting close to having a good load.
2 3/4 , 12ga , 2oz , #1 Tss , 94 pellets per load.
Winchester 1300 , 20in barrel , forcing cone lengthened.
Indian Creek .690 is first pic
Indian Creek .680 is 2nd pic. Both at 40 yards

I am not as familiar with how TSS acts as I am with steel and lead. So would the .680 pattern be a result of over choking and causing the pattern to blow?

Yes exactly
And 695-700 would be more open if a person would want that

Hoping Travis gets to shoot that load at 60 70 yards to see how it does further
Re: Coyote Creek Calls Travis Alzate
Coyote hunt a lot with my 20. Does he have any patterns from a 20? I’m shooting the factory modified with number 3’s right now but I haven’t shot one over about 35 yards with it yet

I would think that would have a blown pattern with big Tss shot.
I would want more open
Re: Coyote Creek Calls Travis Alzate
Yea that’s what I figured that’s why I never tried it. Might need to get a .570

I think more like 575 or even 580-585 for big pellets. I will be loading (hopefully) 2X4's in a duplex
