Was bow hunting for turkeys a couple fall seasons ago and happened to see a red colored coyote out laying in a cut corn field walking back and forth and laying down and getting back up etc. was raining off and on..
Had my wife bring me my 243. i had to sneak down the side of a ditch to get close enough for a shot. When I got within 150 yards I was breathing so hard I whiffed the first shot.
2nd shot took it out. I probably should have had it tanned and kept the fur.
I dragged that nasty critter 1/2 mile to get it out of the field. I probably should have just rolled it into the ditch.

Re: Big Red
Looked like a big one. You saved a bunch of deer and turkey when you took him out.
