Two fellas, two .22rifles, and two limits of squirrels in two hours!

I usually only make two or three squirrel hunts a year. The stars aligned for this one. Wet leaves made for quiet slipping on a perfectly calm Monday morning. And as my buddy put it, they were all head shots....except for most of em that didn't wanna come close or hold still.

Yes sir, both 10/22's. I searched long and hard until I found that stock! Months! I forget the maker, it's a common stock you can find almost anywhere, but in about 5 or 6 different colors. I did so much research before I built that gun, and one day ran across something that said some guy on eBay had those stocks but in a bunch of different woods. I checked em out and when I saw that one, I knew it was the one! I think it's pretty neat, here's a better pic....

It's COOL, that's for sure!!!!
Out of all my years of shooting, I've never owned a Ruger or one of those 10/22s til just the last few months.
I got one in the tactical version, SS, with plastic folding stock, and 16" threaded barrel. Got lasers and a light on the Pic Rails.
Now that I've found some bullets it likes and put a top quality scope on it, it shoots pretty dang good.
Can't believe I've never owned one long before now. Been having a blast with it. So much fun it's freaky!!! :toothy7:
Already lost count on squirrels getting in Lily's flowers and veggies, but then again, we live in Squirrel haven out here!!

Clay, nice to see a bunch of bushy tails hunted with .22s. I no longer have my 10/22, but still have my 77 year old Rem single-shot .22. It's been over 30 years since I have hunted it. Gil

Thanks fellas. Only had it for a couple years, but I love the 10/22. Packed a BLR .22 for years, and absolutely love my Ruger M77 22mag, but it's too much for a squirrel. I sunk a good bit of money into the 10/22, which I know probably isn't necessary, but it came out great. I'm sure there's one out there, but I haven't found a bullet that it won't shoot well enough to hunt with. It's pretty impressive. Always wanted to build a 10/22, glad I finally did it.
