Building a 20 gauge setup and shooting tss loads. Everywhere I have read, people have mentioned the use of red dot scopes with tss, but no direct brand or model mentioned. Any recommendations? Thanks

I've been using a Mueller on my 870 20 gauge for 2 years now and it has worked flawlessly. I have it mounted on a Picatinney rail attached directly to the receiver. There are several great red dot products available out there that all work well.

I had the Bushnell Red/Green dot scope on my 20 until about 2 weeks ago. I liked it and it held up well. I just got tired of changing the color and brightness with the change in light out. I may be making is sound like a big deal, but it got old to me. I put a 1.75 X 4 scope on my 20. The Bushnell was like $110 or so. It held up well, it's just sitting on my workbench now????

Had a Mueller and never really liked it even missed 4 birds with it every time I sighted it in something was off . Got a Burris FF3 last fall and have killed 14 birds with it under varying conditions and love it. I have only actually had to sighted it in once and so far it has held its accuracy spot on. It has an auto setting and I just turn it on in the morning and leave it there.

I don't see how one could ever perform any better than the Burris FF3 either

I have the bushnell trs-25 and so far it's a good red dot for the money. It's not an eotech or aimpoint but it's not 700 bucks either.. It ran me around 90 bucks plus shipping.

I'm a BIG EOTech fan. If they are good enough for our warriors in the Navy Seals and Delta Force, they are good enough for my turkey guns!

If money is no object, then it would have to be the Trijicon RMR. it's about the size of a FF, but illuminated by an ingenious combination of fiber optics and tritium lamp--no batteries. The lamp was developed in the Reflex series which I've used for years. The RMR is battle-tough owing its heritage to the Reflex and Acog systems used by our troops in the far, rough corners of the world. For a battery powered unit, it would be one of the small Aimpoints, the H1 or TI systems. If money is an object, then it would be hard to beat the Burris FF series.

I kind of like the red dots on my Stoeger and Benelli. Not sure of the brand,... I'm thinkin they may have came with the guns,...LOL.

Thanks! I was fortunate a few years back that my buddy worked in the shotgun dept at Remington and he built that gun as a prototype. It only has an 18.5" barrel and I put a Timney 3lb trigger in it. I shot a Rhino out of it for the last few years, but switched to a Primos Jellyhead 665 after spending some time on the pattern board. That partcular picture was my longest shot with that gun or any other gun. I had that bird run from 300 yards heading to the roost and skirted me. He was running and I didn't have time to range him. I was shooting 3.5" Nitros. I went out and put my boot on his neck and laser ranged the shot...75 yards. I would have shot that far if I would have known, but he dropped like a sack of flour.

Very well said. Haven't owned the others (too much money), but I own a FF2 and and FFF3. Neither one has ever given me any trouble, and I much prefer the 3 to the 2.

I am happy with my Mueller, going on my fifth season and four birds so far. No issues after I used Loctite on the rail screws. Variable light or automatic and it is spot on still as we tested or guns yesterday for the late fall hunt. All of the above will get it done for you I just could not justify the extra cost for a twice a year hunt. It is mounted on a Mossberg 835 and seems to blend right in.

I have muellers. I like em. No issues.
