Vac sealer recommendations

Looking at getting a good vac sealer..So many out like everything else..Anyone have any they recommend or stay away from ?

My first Food Saver died on me. I replaced it with a smaller version by the same company that came bare bones with bags. The larger original version came with vacuum bottles and a self contained bag cutter and had a larger foot print. The fewer frills version from Wally World works fine for my purposes and I prefer its smaller footprint... Gil

We have a gamesaver silver....bought in 2010....honest to god....we packed well over a 1000# s of product since...other than goin in the over heat mode several times...its been agreat tool!!! I found the new version on sale for 90.00...so we have a back up. Dont want to be left hangin this deer season...just in case...

I tried 2 of the basic model Food Saver units, neither held up for the repetative packaging for deer, but 2 of my friends use the basic model and have had very good service from them.

Bought a gamesaver silver model in 2012, it has held up very well for all year use including the repetitive sealing for deer/bear, would buy another one.

the silver model also has a feature where you can hook up to your truck battery if electric is unavailable.
