After, even though in the South it doesn't make much difference. Especially in pines.

I prefer before. I hunt mostly woods in the early season , so there is not much green. Sometimes snow..It is crazy hunting gobblers in a snow camo pattern, but it does happen.

I prefer after we hunt alot of mature hardwood stands and alot of it is flat.. Early spring you feel naked and it makes you have to more creative to close the distance.. Addtionally especially on flatlands having foilage opens up alot of places to set up by taking the visual advantage of set up out of the gobblers hands.

After the green up for sure even though it seems that gobblers come in more relaxed before the green up.

Green up no doubt helps but I like hunting before it greens up the best cause that means it isn't hot yet :P

after green up it aids the hunter. does not make it easier to kill one, just more options for getting hid. when it is bare or i hunting row pines, i feel exposed if i can't find some vegetation to help break up my outline. i like the visibility the woods offers before the green shows up.

I like after, because he has to come hunting you in the green stuff and not stand out at 100 yards a gobble because he can't see that hen that's yelping.

I like after the green up. I'm able to get closer to in on a gobbler. Not so much as after the setup, but I'm able to get closer to setup on him.

Full foliage for me. I can get in better position to work a bird with some cover. Before the foliage, the turkeys definitely have the advantage.

After, except for one place I hunt pasture birds. When the season starts, the grass is 6" tall. By end of the season, the grass is as tall as a turkey, and they don't like to walk through it. And if they do, all you see is their head; they can sneak up on you and bust you before you see them.

I asked this because we have split seasons.. I see all these guys wanting the 1st or 2nd week and one of the main reasons is too much foilage later. Give me the foilage.

I like before green-up best. The reason is that I hunt a lot of swamps and when the swamp grass gets too tall, I lose a lot of huntable terrain because turkeys don't like to walk through grass as tall as they are.
