East Coast Trip

Post by TRKYHTR »

I want to thank Tonia, Painterchic, for her hospitality in NY. Mr Tom McLemore, Catdaddy, and myself went to try and kill a NY gobbler. We stayed with Tonia who took care of us with all the cooking etc... Met with Mr Ron Meek, gblrsrst, for about 4 hours and had a great visit. I had an opportunity to kill a turkey but at 54 yards a satellite gobbler pegged me and the jig was up. So I tried a head shot at the strutter and missed. He flew off without in jury. Tom also had an opportunity at a gobbler but didn't have his gun. I know, I know, I'll let him tell the story. I'm sure it will end up in one of his Catdaddy Chronicles stories. We had a great time and Tonia was a great host and great cook. The scenery is beautiful. The season there is so late that there weren't any leaves on the trees and I think the turkeys are just getting started and were in there winter habits. It should get alot better for those going later in the season. Here is a picture of Me, Tom and Ron on the porch of Tonias cabin.

Sounds like a good trip. I've always wanted to hunt NY but just haven't done it yet.

Thanks so much for coming up Joe! I thoroughly enjoyed having you and Tom up here! And I'm not gonna give away Cat Daddy's Story about the gun either, but what I will say is that when Joe and Tom got back that morning and told me what happened, I'm pretty sure I peed myself just a little and my ribs are still sore from laughing... It's been a long time since I laughed that hard!

BTW Joe, Bruce got a bird after trying your call on the first day out, he wanted me to pass on his thanks and let you know it worked GREAT!

I am working on the story now of what I'll refer to as "The Lost Gun Incident". As a peek into the story--let's just say that drugs and turkey hunting do not mix well :)

I don't see why not.

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that
