First Bow Kill

Post by drum817 »

The temp. dropped last night here in NC and I decided to do a morning bow hunt. Rifle season starts on Mon. here. I got to my stand at 6:30ish this morning and at 7:08 had this pretty decent 9 pointer come in. On a local level this is a good deer (they don't grow em big around here). Anyway.... He circled in 20' from the base of my tree and I let my first arrow fly in the woods !!! What a great rush !!! He ran about 60-70 yards and crashed hard. In the end we figured out I had shot him through the heart.... and that made it even better !!! I am VERY happy with my first bow kill !!! Here are some pics.....

Slick Trick 100 gn. Magnum broadhead on a Easton flatline arrow W/ Blazer vanes. I have Three of those Slick Trick's I use for practice and they will still cut you after being shot hundreds of times into a block target.

Awesome buck. Heart shot is awesome. Have not heard from you in awhile. I was wondering if you were getting to bow hunt any. Congrat's on your first archery bow kill. It is a nice one.
