My hunt today was in my friend Toby's honor, he moved away and he left me his honey hole, 3rd buck I've killed there
He texted me, anything ? I replied nothing, then a couple of minutes later I hear crunching from behind me, I turned my head and all I see is antlers right below me, he got even with my stand, looked straight up at me, tucked his ears back , lowered his head and he was sneaking off so I grab my gun to shoot him , he bolts, so I'm basically screaming bleats at him, he stops, I shot...I see him run and stop and then it looked like he fell but then he got back up and I didn't see him drop again, so I climb down go to where I shot him, no blood, i looked around for awhile then I went back to my stand to pinpoint the tree I thought he fell behind, get over there, nothing so I saw his tracks and turned to follow them and there was blood everywhere...oh happy day....Annette and Darren (sister and hubby)met me and helped so much....Thanks to the both of you.....I almost didn't hunt there because the wind was wrong but my gut told me to,so I did It was a two hour walk in, made it just in time, walked up several hogs which sucked so bad, I hate hogs in the dark...then I get to the swamp and I don't go 20 yds and a water Moccasin tried getting me, almost turned around but I only had a 5 minute walk left and I had walked entirely too long and far to turn around ....
