Basement remodel

Post by Jaybird »

Finished the media room, which is a sports theme. Fishing room/Computer room is pretty finished carpeting and walls. Probably won't get to furnishing it till maybe next week. Starting tomorrow painting and stripping carpet in last room to do downstairs. Big bedroom, which is going to take me a while to do.

I started getting ready to paint this room tomorrow, which use to be the master bedroom, but now going to be the guest bedroom. Has it's own bath, which I will try to maybe paint when I'm done with this bedroom.

Looks nice, Jay. Could I talk you into some "Packer" colors? A little green and gold would be perfect for you... :D

I'm from Minnesota, and went to University of Minnesota. I have an autographed poster of Winfield and Monitor, two of my favorite UM players that made it big in the Pros. Most of what is hanging on the walls is all autographed. AU shirt was autographed by Bill Walton, who I had the pleasure of meeting at an AU basketball tournament that I was involved with. Real nice guy. I have 3 pieces autographed by Bob Fulller, who I had some great Baseball discussions with. We got along real well. I had the opportunity to meet Ted Williams thru Bob, and I couldn't get out of work. Man, that totally sucked. I still regret that one.

I don't know if you noticed the Fran Tarkenton book on the shelf, who was one of my favorite Vikes. I found it laying in the back of my wifes SUV, opened it up, and realized it was autographed. She had it given to her by someone that was a friend of Fran's, and she had no clue who he was, but knowing I'm a big sports fan, she thought I MIGHT want it

The only thing I can't view is the older cassete movie tapes, which I have quite a collection of fishing trips, and other family events. I really need to see if I can hook one up. I have a lot of older 8 track Turkey video hunts, which is cool to watch, so glad to have the player. I have a great surround system, which will defintely rock the house.

I defintely will wrap up the basic remodeling by November 1st, if we can get my kitchen guy over here to get started. We are skipping a lot of finish work that we will do after we get her house emptied and sold. That is the white elephant right now sucking up monthly payments that I really need to get rid of, even if we just break even on it. However, I think I can make enough on it to pay for all the remodeling I did here. Good thing buddy is we have a place for you to sack out this Spring, if you end up coming this way Turkey Hunting. :D

There are no numbers on any of my clocks below 8. Then all of a sudden, 2 days before turkey season they appear. Then right after the season they disappear.
What's up with that

Looking good. Gotta love a great surround sound set-up. I rarely go to the theater anymore, movies are so expensive. More fun to watch at home anyway. Popcorn sure is cheaper.

Well, the kitchen is set. Talked to our kitchen remodel expert, who is starting October 16th with an estimated 2 weeks completion. He wanted my wife's dining room table and chairs, which no longer fits the new location (too big), so my wife traded a new sink and counter tops for it. She just stole this off Craigs list from people who had no idea what it was worth for $100, and now we pick up at least $600-$800 worth of stuff for it. Man, I love my wife.
