...seen dead on the road hit by vehicles?

I got to thinking and can only remember 3 that I have seen in my lifetime (51 years)

Well in the last 2 months there have been 4, YES FOUR, hit in a one mile stretch about 2 miles down the road from my house!
That is just crazy!

I had one last archery season, the truck in front of me hit it, it was laying there with it's head up, so I pulled over walked up to it and stepped on it's neck, could not see it suffer, he had a split beard

...I saw another one fly across the road, hit the truck that was going bout 60, bounced off and flew across the road....I prayed for him, lol....I see an average of 3-4 a year

16 -18. Seen 14 in one flock wiped out by some stupid piece of s&*t.Reported it to the police cause it was intentional. Dont know if they ever got the scumbag or not.

I've seen 3. Most notable was about 20 years ago one winter when I saw fresh killed hen along a state road at dusk. I was with my family. I stopped, examined the bird and it was still warm and no rigor. Jenny rode home with us for supper. The kids loved it. Wife not too wild about serving road kill.

Maybe I am the odd man.. But I would say 100 if not 100s.. Not that uncommon a site around here.. Then again with goose hunting I am in the truck 100s of miles each day..

Maybe 10 ever. It's pretty rare around here. However, seeing a dead deer every five miles, or so, is common.

I know of three people that have hit turkeys with their vehicles at night, though. I have the beards from a big double-beard that smashed the grill in on my buddy's brand new $65,000 Land Cruiser.

On the other hand when I lived in California there would be so many roadkill pheasants on the side of the road it made me worry about riding a motorcycle.

Ok this is starting to weird me out.. We do not see roadkill turkeys like deer, but it is not un common.. Today we had to stop another couple a times for turkeys in the road.. The 3 hens and 20 or so poults just ran down the middle of road for a while and than fly off.

just when the seasons are ramping up and I hit the road to hunt, usually seen 3-5 on the way to KY that is hit.

a few years ago I went to NY for work just before KY came in and I swear the last 20 miles of Ohio and just before Erie PA I saw 1 dead gobbler a mile. I was like, well, there was a lot of turkey action here..

I've heard a couple of people tell stories of hitting a turkey with a vehicle, but right off, I can't remember ever seeing one run over on the road. I've never even come close to hitting one myself.
