He's a good looking pup. Pointing breeds have so much instinct bred into them that some can just about hit the ground hunting as gundogs. A buddy had a GSP that did it all without him having to do much in the way of training. I forsee many a chewed shoe in your future.

Nice looking puppy!

I miss not having bird dogs around. Just got nothing to hunt anymore around here.

thanks, shoulda named him piss & vinegar instead of Jase, cause he's full of it! it has always amazed me how much of that instinct they have, this little guy is gonna be a goodun I have a feeling. My 10 yr old GSP is keeping him in line though, he gives him a beatin every once in a while to remind him who's the alpha dog, it's hilarious to watch.

Who would have the heart to put him in the briars!!! I'm with Hal, right now I can't recall seeing any quail last year. I have owned bird dogs in the past. Is a comeback possible??

Not many quail to be found, but a few pheasants to shoot, last year was the worst ever, they predict this year will be a turn around and then next year should be decent...assuming that everything goes perfectly weather and habitat wise, which it won't.
