Hi

Post by ArkansasDon »

talking with Sloppy a few nights back, he mention a few asked about me on here, so I thought I would stop by................Work has me tied down so I dont get much time to talk on line. Some think we've went out of business do to lack of work......thats further from the truth. Were one of the busier shops out in the last few years. We've had a huge abondance of firearm come in the 1st of the year and slow getting them out. Not count our clients orders. We expanded our shop size to accommodate the customer & clients orders. Beside the camo application we got into Moly Teflon Baked on coatings which enhanced our service offering plus a certified gunsmith in the shop. Rick specializes in 1911's, AK's AR's along with the others firearms.

Turkey season been slow in Arkansas for the last 3yrs, not much as of birds taking in the state. Our numbers are down dramatically. They shorten our season down to less days than before and done a-way with the fall season altogether.

I figured he was gone by now, but glad to see he's still hanging in there. I had to put my 16 year old GSP, Lady, down this year, which hurt. However, I replaced her with a new wife, so that worked out okay. I'm teaching my wife to retrieve, but she doesn't set a point on birds worth a crap. I sure would like one of those Deckers, but I'm getting up there in age, and I think it's time to hang up the dog life.

Welcome aboard. It's tough losing a dog. I put down my 12 year-old Aussie one year ago today and I miss the hell out of him. It helped having Abby around; she's turned into a promising birddog and is a 38 lb. muscular lapdog. Jaybird, one advantage for swapping a dog for a wife is that a wife can be easier to train than a dog to handload. At least that's been my experience. However, a dog is more forgiving.
Like the old joke: Lock your wife or girlfriend and dog in the trunk of your car. Come back in a hour and let them out. Guess who is glad to see you. Gil

PS: Lock your wife OR (not AND) girlfriend ...

Hey Don, glad to see your out and about. First "met" you over on the Freaks site several years back. I've been checking your site for awhile and I see you're pretty busy over there. Trying to decide if I want to camo a gun or two, or three. :)

 In my case I wouldn't be alive long enough once I opened the trunk to make that determination.
